I don't understand.
OpenStudy (ahsome):
\[-2x+8=-16\]\[-2x=-16-8\]\[-2x=-24\]\[x=\frac{-24}{-2}\]\[x=12\]

No problem :D

So basically you ended up adding 16 and 8 because they were both negatives right ?
OpenStudy (ahsome):
Well, we had \(-16\) and \(-8\) on the right hand side, right?
So what is \(-16-8\)?
\(-24\)
