since the problem states that Rachel wishes to spend the entire 25 for cherry candies, then that makes x = 0 and you'll have the equation as 0.75(0) + 0.5y =25. now solve for it by substituting the value for y

when dealing with intercepts, note that a y-intercept occurs when x=0 and x-intercept happens when y=0.. so you just have to substitute x=o for y-intercept and y=0 for x-intercept
