James took two math tests. He scored 86 points on the second test. This was 18 points higher than his score on the first test. Write an equation to the score James received on the first test. Show that your answer is reasonable

james scored a 68 on his first test because 18+68 is 86

Thanks @c5pony

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is wrong @c5pony

no its not

@NessaCox For the equation it would look like this.... Your trying to write a equation to find what he got on his other math test 86-18=T where T=the other test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i guess u could say 86-18= 68 u still get the same answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Scored 18 higher...so just subtract from the 86 to get the previous test's score. = (68)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You didnt show a equation, but a answer. So you were wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
