What are some effects of the First Industrial Revolution? I need Agriculture, Business, Political, Social, Transportation, and Technology.
This is actually not so difficult. The effects of the First Industrial Revolution are easy because all you have to do is imagine what happened to all the farms and craftsmen and people when a bunch of factories and machines took over.
I just can't think of all of them.
Okay. Agriculture: -more efficient farming methods (think of the cotton gin) -farming became a leading industry (think why..hint: improvements in...) Business/Political: -jobs for skilled craftspeople became scarce (think why...hint: machines did what?) -skilled craftspeople formed the first labor unions for higher wages and shorter hours (think why.) Social: -families looked for employment outside of the house -factory growth led to health and sanitation issues in cities -two classes of people emerged: industrial capatalists and industrial laborers (think who's who) Transportation -innovations to transportation (think what kind/what examples) -faster shipping -regional distribution of products became more efficient Technology -simple machines and tools replaced hand tools -used natural power such as filling water, coal, or steam. -new processes, such as interchangeable parts and the factory system (how did they effect production?)
Thanks!! Whattabout the effects of the second industrial revolution? what was the difference?
Err...you'll have to close this and make a new question because it's one per post. :)
