Okay, so first. what's a rational number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A number that can be expressed as a quotient or a fraction

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

yup, and what's an irrational number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can not be expressed as a ratio

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

ok simple enough, right? so we want something between 5.2 and 5.5. Rational is easy to solve here, because we can simply do something like 53/10. which is = 5.3

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

a top for finding irrational numbers is to take the square root of an odd number. so if you do something like the squareroot of 29 you get something like 5.38516480713.....

tip* not top
