As for the first question. About the Ecosystems of North America. North America is a gigantic area, so I think it's hard to describe all of the included ecosystems. Maybe you could firstly, look up what an ecosystem consists of, before you apply that to the geographical zone that you are interested in. However, as I said, North America is a big area, so I would say that it consists of multiple ecosystems (I don't know).

For your next question, regarding the domestic independence during colonial time. Firstly, you should try to look up the colonial time, then you might be able to figure out about your question.
