B ,The obvious one is satellite communications, which is what makes cell phones possible, and is also used by TV broadcasting, wireless Internet service, GPS units and whole lot more. 

 The idea of creating computers that are smaller than your living room was based on the need to take computers into space in a small vehicle ... and so they developed small hard drives, small memory chips, etc., which eventually made personal computers possible.
