1. A function of f(x) is symmetric with respect to the vertical line x = a if f(a-x) = f(a+x) a) Draw the graph of a function that is symmetric to x=a b) Show that if f(x) is symmetric with respect to x=a, then g(x) = f(x+a) is even. please help

x = a is a vertical line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then, what sort of graph would be symmetric to it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im guessing quadratic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the question asking symmetric to the line or around the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's asking to draw a graph that is symmetric to x = 2. what i dont get it how the a value comes in. im not really sure about this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want to find a graph symmetric to x = 2? Around the line x=a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess so..well it's ok. i think i get it thank you anyways!!
