I was born in the South
And was raised to use respect with my mouth
By saying yes Sir and yes Ma'am
To all men and women
Being a countryboy wasn't about where you lived
But how you survived
With school and chores on the farm
I wasn't worried about being a charm
The life I lived I will never forget
Because I have worked, learned and sweat
All for good morals and respect
