Factor 15x^2-17x-18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15x^2-27x+10x-18=0 take 3x as common in first two terms and 2 as common in next two terms 3x(5x-9)+2(5x-9)=0 (3x+2)(5x-9)=0 by using the priciple of zero products 3x+2=0 or 5x-9=0 3x=-2 or 5x=9 x=-2/3 or x=9/5

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

the first thing you wanted to do was multiply 15* -18 and then find two numbers that multiply to get this number and add to get the middle coefficient i.e. as @AmmuluRajesh found we get those numbers as -27, and 10
