When 3x^2+6x-12 is factored, the result is:

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

first take out the 3 to give 3(x^2 + 2x - 4) now factor what's in the parentheses

thnx

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

to factor this you need to find 2 numbers whose product is -4 ( to give the -4 at the end) and when added give the coefficient of x ( +2 ) - i'm taking a look at this again and can see that this is not possible

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

so that as far as we can go the factors are 3(x^2 + 2x - 4)

thnx
