What is 348,000,000,000,000 estimated as the product of a single digit and a power of 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean you need it in scientific notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes plz

\[3.48\times10^{14}\]

hope this helped! you move the decimal over and the amount of times you move the decimal will be your exponent.

It is easy to do these when you know that you move the decimal to the left for positive numbers and to the right for negative numbers - then count how many places. Your number here is 348,000,000,000,000 So your decimal is at the end; 380,000,000,000,000.0 You move it 14 places to the left before it becomes less than 10. 3.48 then you multiply it by 10 and raise it to the 14th power.
