OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

You are trying to compare the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales and you have two examples: Temperature A is 50 degrees Celsius and 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature B is 100 degrees Celsius and 212 degrees Fahrenheit. What is an equation of the line in slope-intercept form? What is a graph that models the relationship between the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales? PLEASE HELP ME!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first do you know how to do slopes

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yes it is m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

@PETERteenwolf what do I do now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make the two into either both Fahrenheit or Celsius. I'll be back

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

how do I do that? I'm normally good at math but my brain has like shut off for the day and I HAVE to get this done :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel ya

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

haha

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I only have until 6 to get it done and I still have 3 workpad problems which requires a lot of explaining and this one question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what time is it know

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

4:41

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

so I have just over an hour.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do you think you Post to do

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I have no idea right now. write out an equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what grade you in

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

10th and in Honors Algebra 2 but I am only 14.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm only in 8

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I know that the conversion is 5/9-32 but i dont know what to do with that....oh haha

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

and i have to make a graph. thats the part that is confusing me. the equation should be y=5/9x+32 but i dont know the graph. just graph the point slope form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but if A 122 Fahrenheit and b is 212 Fahrenheit to what slope are you finding

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

i think i got it. :) do you have time to help me with other questions if i need help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

okay so my brain IS NOT working. I have learned this but I can't remember how to do it. I just learned it last year too! A triangle has vertices at A (3,4), B (-3,2), C (-1,-4) Is the triangle a right triangle? explain. and i need to show my work as well.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

it isn't? Do i just graph it and explain? That's the only way I can think of. I have done it with like real numbers, not coordinates before. That's what's so confusing....:) thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain how when you graph it you dont get a right triangle trust me I did

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

:) you didn't get a right triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no do you have paper

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yeah but i am going to do it on the workpad :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k12

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

like a public school?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

online school don't worry nothing wrong with me I'm just lazy

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

ik. i was jw. im on a online school too! :) connexus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yup. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any other questions

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

i will. one sec. let me see :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

im just gonna have you help me on ther rest. only 2 more :) Find the value of y for a given value of x, if y varies directly with x. If y=-252 when x=84, what is y when x=74?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

so I'm thinking, 84/-252=74/y and do the fish multply thingy?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

-222

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probably

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would pick that

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

okay. i got that last one now too. thanks for all your help!!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My names Daequian By the way

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

My name's Haley :) thanks again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

just message me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AZ phoenix 8529 west Berkeley road

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

haha :) I'm from OR Scio. VERY SMALL town....:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool is that in az

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

no. Scio Oregon

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

:) I know a family in AZ tho. my family is like best friends with them. The Bost family. you heard of them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you like to do your a girl right

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

well they are like very traditional and their whole family sings and plays instruments. yes. I like showing animals. I will private message you cuz I'm more comfortable that way. I don't like ppl knowing much about me unless we're friends :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understandable

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

:)

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

i can't graph it on the thing. I can try something really quick :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure
