Help please. Find the equation of a line that is parallel to the line x=-19 and contains the point (-3,8). The equation of the line is __________ ( I'm not sure if I have to write in in a specific equation or what, kinda lost to what to do.)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

What kind of line is x=-19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertical? not sure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is a vertical line at x=-19, and since we are trying to find a line parallel to that, it will be x=x coordinate given in this case we are given that is goes through the point (-3,8) so the x coordinate is -3 and the equation is x=-3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct, so you need to find the equation of the vertical line through (-3,8)
