OpenStudy (anonymous):

copper has a density of 8.96g\cm. give a possible mass and volume of a sample of copper

OpenStudy (aum):

Density = Mass / Volume = 8.96 g / cm^3 Mass = 8.96 x Volume. If you pick a volume, say, 100 cm^3, then Mass = 8.96 x 100 = 896 grams. So Mass = 100 grams, Volume = 100 cm^3.
