1-two balls roll of a 1.1 m high table with horizontal velocity of 2.5m/s 5.0m/s, respectively. They reach the edge of the table at the same time. Which ball hits the ground first? a)The ball that travels the shorter distance hits the ground first. b)The slower ball hits the ground first c) The faster ball hits the ground first d) Both balls hits the ground at the same time 2- What is the horizontal velocity of the fastest ball when it reach the ground? a)5m/s b)1.10m/s c)4.64m/s d)2.50m/s E)9.80m/s

OpenStudy (aaronq):

the balls are in free fall and have no vertical velocity at first, the only force acting on them is gravity. They both accelerate at 9.8 m/s^2 downward and will fall at the same velocity, they will reach the floor at the same time.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

For b) you need to first find how long it takes for the ball to reach the floor, then use that time to find how far the ball travels.
