The United States has several laws that are intended to further fair, balanced, and competitive business practices. Do you think that such laws are effective?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

It depends on how you look at it and who you ask. Some people would argue that they are effective and things are more freer because of it. In other words, the market is more competitive and a lot of businesses are coming and going because of these laws. Others would probably point to corruption or things like that. Maybe it wouldn't be outright breaking the law, but probably subtle forms of finding loopholes in the law. Unfortunately, this does occur and it requires changes in the law, which is a slow process.
