OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

The following function is an even function. f(x) = 4x^2 − 2

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Is this true

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Do you see any odd exponents? It might be more obvious in this almost equivalent form: f(x) = 4x^2 - 2x^0

geerky42 (geerky42):

Function is even function if \(f(x) = f(-x)\)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Plug in -x then simplify, if you get original function, then yeah, it is even function

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

so this is true then

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yep

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

because i got the same thing

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

1) Well, then why didn't you show us your work? 2) If that's what you managed, and then it was subsequently demonstrated by another, why do you still doubt?
