OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

odd function check please

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

So i did the f(-x)= -f(x) and got the same thing. would I be right then if this is true?

geerky42 (geerky42):

\[f(-x) = \dfrac{1}{2}(-x)^2+4 = \dfrac{1}{2}x^2+4\]Notice that we just got back to original equation [ f(-x) = f(x) ]

geerky42 (geerky42):

So it is even function

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

erg i got 1/2(x^2+8) T-T

geerky42 (geerky42):

\[-f(x) = -\left(\dfrac{1}{2}x^2+4\right) = -\dfrac{1}{2}x^2-4\]Not same as f(-x)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Does that confused you?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

erggg again i missed the sign
