in a paragraph of five to seven sentences explain why internet sites like wiki are controversial research sources

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you say wiki, do you mean wikipedia? or wiki answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wikipedia is a controversial research source because it is open for anyone who wants to add information. If you look at the site, it says edit, almost everywhere. This causes people to post whatever they want whether the material is pertinent to the topic or not. I personally believe the information on Wikipedia is not entirely accurate. If you use wikipedia as a resource, and someone tampered with that the particular subject and added misleading information before you utilized it, teachers and professors may question you about your knowledge on the topic or discussion. If you find information on Wikipedia, it's best to verify that its correct with another internet source. All through high school, I was told not to use Wikipedia as a resource for my research papers, and it's pretty obvious why they say this. Wikipedia is too risky, and if you depend on wikipedia for most of your research, I highly suggest you look into a more authentic website. I hope this helped you in some way. :) You can look into it more at http://isites.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k70847&pageid=icb.page346376

With wiki answers, it might be the same case. But don't think that answers from wiki answers aren't correct, because some people on there do know what they're talking about and are willing to help, while others may fool around and give you the wrong answer deliberately.
