IMHO , i think he chosed a unique man life 
like when u dream that u getting young each day ( which is a wish to every one ) dont u always wish to be  young ? thus he managed to make this wish or dream to become true like how a man life would be if he getting young instead of getting old ? sort of philosophy 
but thats teachs us something , u would know when he was 1-12 years old with old man look , he had a child mind , then when he gets young his mind gets old which tells u being old is not about how u look like , its about how much experince ans lessons have u learned from life
