students receive 25% off the regular ticket prices at schiltterbahn. if the ticket is $44.25 what is the regular ticket price

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If they already took of 25%, then that price is 75% of the original (or 3/4 of the original, yay proportion time!). If that is 3/4, then what is 4/4? (Hint, 44.25 is made up of 3 * 1/4 pieces, what is 1/4 of 44.25? Then once you find that, add it to 44.25 to get 4/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/4 of 44.25 is 11.0625

OpenStudy (anonymous):

scratch that is 11.07

@LizzyMcWire has a great explanation but made a small error toward the end in the hint.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

44.25 is 3/4 of the original price. Divide 44.25 by 3 to find 1/4 of the original price. Then multiply that number by 4 to find the original price.
