yes but am still confused am not sure what to do. am new to algebra

here are the steps to follow: 1. use the distributive property for multiplication to expand each side 2. group like terms 3. simplify 4. isolate the variable to one side and leave the constant on the other side of the equation 5. divide each side by the coefficient of the variable do you know how to use the distributive property? remember to keep the balance whatever you do to one side of an equation also do to the other
