PLEASE SHOW ME HOW TO DO THIS A clinic took temperature readings of 250 flu patients over a weekend and discovered the temperature distribution to be Gaussian, with a mean of 102.00°F and a standard deviation of 0.5660. Use this normal error curve area table to find the following values. (a) What is the fraction of patients expected to have a fever greater than 103.58°F? (b) What is the fraction of patients expected to have a temperature between 101.43°F and 102.74°F?
Basically the question is asking how far from the mean your data is. Gaussian functions are well known and easy functions to use, once you understand them. For instance the amount of data within the mean plus or minus the standard deviation (102.00-.5660 to 102+.5660) is 68%. You can use an error function table to figure out the percent inside a certain range of standard deviations. If you need the range outside you can subtract from 100.
im still a little lost, can you show me how to apply the concept on this problem @pcaginalp
this is statistics, ask in the math section
