x+4y=4 Find the slope and Y intercept

Nnesha (nnesha):

first you have to solve for y do you know how to solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think so , Is it y=-x/4+1?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeah right so y = mx + b so here is slope intercept equation where m is slope (which is always with x) and b is y-intercept so what's you slope & y - intercept should be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope - -x/4 and yintercept is 0,1?

Nnesha (nnesha):

x is not a slope the number with x is slope and where you 0 from

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I pt a 1 in place of the x ? If I was to graph it would the y inter turn into (0,1) right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeah so slope is -1/4 and y is 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty

Nnesha (nnesha):

y intercept is always on y axis when x is 0 so you don't have to write 0

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure :)
