6-18 is not Algebra 2.  It's a subtraction problem.  6-18 = -12

Now, |-12| = ????

Show your work.  You MUST have SOME idea.  Remember what you know already.  Just because you encounter Absolute Value symbols should not cause you to forget how to subtract.

I do not try to be offensive.  I'm telling you the truth.  It is surprising how many perfectly good students forget everything they know the moment they encounter something new.  I'm merely suggesting you reach into your brain and remember what you knew yesterday.  Don't forget it because you encountered something new.


Absolute Values just make things positive.
So, |-12| = ??

P.S.  Online mathematics has yet to impress me at all.  So many students struggle mightily and we don't seem to be getting much better at it.  You will be required to put in a lot of effort.  We're glad we can help in some small way.
