The stadium is in need of a medical pool to attend to injured or sick whales. The pool will be located adjacent to the holding tanks. Your job is to design a medical pool using a 3-dimensional polyhedral shape you learned about in this module. For safety reasons, the tank can be no more than one-fourth the volume of a holding tank. You will need to submit a 2-dimensional drawing, the dimensions, the volume of your pool, and proof that the pool's volume is no more than one-fourth the volume of a holding tank to your instructor.
one-half
Sorry, i stepped away for a little bit, but ill gladly explain now!
oh okay thank you! :)
yes no problem your welcome
1/4 the volume of the holding tank is 84823/4 which is?
21205.75
Yes. So that means that the pool cant have a volume greater than 21206
wasnt it 84780/4 ?
your welcome tunc
Yes it was >.<, My mistake :) So once you divide them you get 21195, indicating that your pool can not have a volume greater than 21195.
So then you would have to find a radius and a height to match this. The two i came up with was 9 for the radius and 72ft for the height. Once a had them i set up my equation:
V= 3.14(9)^2*72 V=18321.76836
And once you have your answer of 18321 (which is lower than 21195) you set up your design to show it.
same drawing ?
Yup!
thank you!
No problem :)
