well this is an interesting question.. it looks like |dw:1411416862098:dw| After graphing I would do 1. find the area under the curve y=x^2 + 1 from -2 to -1 \[\int\limits_{-2}^{-1} (x^2 + 1 ) dx\] 2. find the area of the trapezoid under the x-axis, height = 1 a = 2 b = 1 3. add the 2 areas together hope it helps
