OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

The graph of the following parabola will be narrower than the base graph of the parabola and be curved up f(x) = 2x^2 + 5x − 3.

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Is this true because anything above 0 makes the parabola narrow and anything under 0 makes it wider?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2 is wider

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to make it wider it has to be between 1 and 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2 is still narrow

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Do you mean Is this true because |a| above \(\large \color{red}{1}\) makes the parabola narrow and anything under \(\large \color{red}{1}\) makes it wider?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

@ganeshie8 yah thats the one i met :p I kinda screwed up there

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

the coefficient of x^2 is positive so it will be curved up yes the 2 coefficient of x^2 will make the parabola narrower

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ganeshie can you help with calculus?
