please help

OpenStudy (cj49):

?

OpenStudy (cj49):

y=0.5x 2y=x+4 wats the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to find the x and y using the substitution and the elimination method

OpenStudy (cj49):

y-0.5x=0 2y-x =4(0.5) 0.5y-0.5x=2 2y-0.5x=0 -1.5y=2 y=-2/1.5

OpenStudy (cj49):

substitute y then ull get x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its x+4

OpenStudy (cj49):

2y=x+4 2y-x=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2y=x+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're confusing me more

OpenStudy (cj49):

i get it but when u transfer x from the r.h.s to the l.h.s then the sign changes

OpenStudy (cj49):

to solve by elimination method this is the standard form x+y=0 here its 2y=x+4 so we need to transfer x from the rhs to the lhs it wud be -x+2y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you confused me more

OpenStudy (cj49):

how would u approach this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im just confused more and i dont know and u cant explain it

OpenStudy (cj49):

are u familiar with elimination method
