Oh this can be done EASILY!! ^-^* Okay Start off by plugging in the given values into the equation....
just plug the given values in the places of the corresponding variables
i don't know what that means
19 + 5(2)^4 - 3(-4)^2 plugging in values means to put the numbers given for the variables into your equation like I've done above....
In place of a plug 2 and in place of b plug -4\[19 + 5 (2)^4 - 3 (-4) ^2\]
oh ok
i've done that now
alright now, step by step.. you have to solve in order so think of PEMDAS.. start with parentheses... sooo 5 x 2 = 10.. then 10 x 10 = 100 that part is solved.. now your equation should look like: 19 + 100 - 3(-4)^2
okay i'm writing this down
Oops i made a MISTAKE!!!.... it's supposed to be 10 x 10 x 10 because it's to the third power.. sooo its supposed to be 19 + 1000 - 3(-4)^2
sorry /.< okay next..
oh. ok
same with the other parenthesis.. 3 x -4 = -12.. then -12 x -12 (because here it's squared) = a POSITIVE 144... NOW your equation should look like: 19 + 1000 + 144... Add'em up and i think you have your answer c:
oh ok thanks for your help! i think i understand now
