Prokaryotic cells have cell walls and no membrane bound organelles. Eukaryotic cells are larger, they have a nucleus, and specialized organelles. Because the eukaryotic cells have the specialized organelles they are able to actively transport nutrients throughout their cells enabling them grow larger. Prokaryotes cant do this, they do not have a way of transporting the nutrients throughout there cells and rely on diffusion mostly which limits their abilty to take in nutrients and grow to the size of the eukaryotic cells
