2,A tropical rain forest may be unable to be returned to its original climax community after which of the following disturbances? a . burning of a forest fire b. clearing & farming c. volcanic eruption d. flooding after a hurricane

Not A because there are times where forest fires actually help the plant life come back even stronger. With B, it would be very difficult for a forest to come back because the trees have probably all been uprooted to make room for the farm land and will constantly be maintained. I would say no to C because it doesn't actually take plant life long to refurbish in the area. I'm not too sure about D. If you give me just a moment, I'll look further into it.

While floods uproot the preexisting trees, that doesn't mean that it gets rid of the nutrients in the soil. This will enable new trees to grow later. On the other hand, farming is not so similar. After farming the area, not only have you uprooted the trees in the area, but after using the land for so long to grow crops, you WILL begin using up the soil's nutrients. This will prevent the forest from returning to its true former glory.

So in shorter terms...B.

c

Volcanic soil is actually pretty fertile, so there are often higher plant populations around volcanoes.
