triple plz help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Points A and B lie on the graph of the equation y = 7x. What are the y-coordinates for each point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the equation/problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im writing it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Point A: (-2, ) Point B: (4, )

If you graph y=7x and look on the x axis for -2, the y value is approximately -14. As for 4, the approximate value is 28.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry for the wait. My internet is being ridiculous. Since the question is closed, I didn't know if you still needed help or not, but I thought I would anyways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, with the equation y=7x You can use the x values you are given to approximate the y value. For the first set of coordinates, you are given -2, so plug -2 into the equation. y = 7x y = 7(-2) y = -14 Notice how that was the same answer we got from graphing earlier? Now let's look at the second one. y = 7x y = 7(4) y = 28

oh well thx ill give u a medal but can i ask you more quesions

@marylou004

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well thx let me attach it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get the attachement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think one answer is c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember what I told you earlier about plugging the x values given into the equation, and that's how you get the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh well ok well can u help me solve answer i know one of them its C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of the 2 answers is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We are given the x values -12, -1, 1, and 12 and our equation is y = 12x y = 12(-12) y = 12(-1) y = 12(1) y = 12(12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u still here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tell me what you get for your answer for each

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk thats why i need help thats why iim asking u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simple multiplication: 12(-12)= -144 12(-1)= -12 12(1)= 12 12(12)= 144 So now that you know the y values, compare them to your given x values. (-12,-144) (-1,-12) (1,12) (12,144) and your answers are the ones that match your options.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so is it B, and C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Catseyeglint911

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fine then bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I had to leave for school. Hope it all makes sense now. ^^
