Which of the following sums would be under the radical symbol to find the distance between the points (7, -1) and (-8, -9)? 1^2 + 10^2 1^2 + 8^2 15^2 + 8^2

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

distance formula : d = sq rt ((x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2) (7,-1)....x1 = 7 and y1 = -1 (-8,-9)..x2 = -8 and y2 = -9 now we sub d = sq rt ((-8 - 7)^2 + (-9 - (-1)^2)) d = sq rt ((-15^2) + (-8^2)) ---- I am not getting exactly the same thing
