Two stores sell the same refrigerator for the same original price. Store A advertises that the refrigerator is on sale for 15% off the original price. Store B advertises that it is reducing the refrigerators price by $150. When Stephanie compares the sale prices of the refrigerator in both stores, she concludes that the sale prices are equal. Which equation models this situation? Let p represent the refrigerators original price. A. 0.85p = p-150 B. 0.85(p- 150) = p C. 0.15p = p-150 D. 0.15p = p + 180
A
That would be A... if it is 15% off, then you are actually paying 85%. Turn 85% to a decimal and multiply it by p. 0.85p And store B...if original price = p, then 150 less is p - 150 Then you just set them equal to each other
omg thank you so much! can you help me with a couple more i really need someone to explain how they got their answers like you did.
