i self tought myself, all i did was look at the basic codes, and how they went together and using that i self tought myself in a half hour

ive played runescape,
and the way you do boxes is not really LaTeX all you need to do is `` (that symble is above the tab key push normally without shift) and type in between the text like this `hi i made a box!` sorry for the wait... i was called to another post again and went to another tab to look at it :P

\(\LaTeX\) is also used in scientific papers. It allows the formatting of complex equations. In fact, that is the original use. It was not till later that the web came along and they needed a language to describe the same sort of formulas here. They resued \(\LaTeX\) because it already worked.
