Divide -300 by 7.  Unfortunately, if we divide 7 into -300, there will be a remainder.

How else could you write -300/7 ?

Oh.  In that case the answer is different.  Those "lines on each side" probably represent "absolute value."  Find your 'p' key and then focus your eyes 3 keys to the right.  Press the shift key and then this key and you should get |     .
try it.

If you now want |-300 over 7|, what would you do?

when you see | stuff |
the | | means "absolute value"
it does one thing:  it makes whatever is inside *positive*

example:   | -1 | = 1
| 1 | = 1  (the | | does nothing because the 1 is already positive)
