simplify -300/7? ... Please help :)
@mathmale
Divide -300 by 7. Unfortunately, if we divide 7 into -300, there will be a remainder. How else could you write -300/7 ?
A. -400/7 B. -300/7 C. 200/7 D. 300/7
I think B?
None of the 4 possible answers can be simplified more, so it makes sense to choose B.
b is the answer. thanks
Cool. Hope to work with you again, altho I need to get off the 'Net now. thanks for your excellent participation.
it was / -300 over 7/ like that to be clear
those lines on each side but straighter
Oh. In that case the answer is different. Those "lines on each side" probably represent "absolute value." Find your 'p' key and then focus your eyes 3 keys to the right. Press the shift key and then this key and you should get | . try it. If you now want |-300 over 7|, what would you do?
not really sure
what am i suppose to do first?
@TuringTest
@phi
when you see | stuff | the | | means "absolute value" it does one thing: it makes whatever is inside *positive* example: | -1 | = 1 | 1 | = 1 (the | | does nothing because the 1 is already positive)
oh so it would be be thank you so so much :) I wish I could repay you @phi
| -300/7 | becomes positive i.e. 300/7
so it would be 300/7
