HELP PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE!:) I WILL FOR SURE GIVE MEDALS TO WHO EVER HELP JUST PLEASE HELP?:)
What's your question?
Which new technology of the 1800s had the greatest impact on cattle ranchers on the Great Plains? A. steam-powered river boats B. telegraph lines C. refrigerated rail cars D. McCormick reaper
If You Asked Me I Would Say A Is That Correct?
No
B.telegraph lines helped them communicate from far distances.
Well B and C are out because they aren't related. I'd say A also.
How would a steam boat help a farmer?
B. also because it helped them sell crops to others in the area
Your smart
And you make siencce
i dont know what i was thinkin -.-
You're* That does make more sense @Bballplayer48
Ty
Yw medal for u
because they didn't really have to have boats right
I would actually say C. Reason being is because it gave thier range of sell a greater area. Instead of only being able to sell to say, Central Kansas, a refrigerated Box car would keep meat fresh to go all the way to New York City.
that makes sense to -.-
Yes itscletus it could have but no. It was a lot cheaper and faster to use a telegram
We are speaking Cattle farmers in general. Trust me. It's in the 8th grade history book. Meat rots easily. Though telegraph was an excellent invention and in fact helped cattle farmers. I think that the refrigerated Box car helped. It does not say about price. it asked what had the greatest impact of that particular type of farmer
The telegraph was important, but in reality, it had not much of an impact on cattle farming. Really the only thing that they may have even been able to use it for is maybe to tell a friend rancher about say, a coyote or predator. The box car however, expanded the business of the farmer to at least two times his normal reach.
Yes but think about it telegram was a lot cheaper then running a railcart to every buyer. Not every cattle farmer had the money for that. You can't put cattle in refrigerated rail cars any way
You are aware what comes from cattle right?
A refrigerator car (or "reefer") is a refrigerated boxcar (U.S.), a piece of railroad rolling stock designed to carry perishable freight at specific temperatures. Refrigerator cars differ from simple insulated boxcars and ventilated boxcars (commonly used for transporting fruit), neither of which are fitted with cooling apparatus. Reefers can be ice-cooled, come equipped with any one of a variety of mechanical refrigeration systems, or utilize carbon dioxide (either as dry ice, or in liquid form) as a cooling agent. Milk cars (and other types of "express" reefers) may or may not include a cooling system, but are equipped with high-speed trucks and other modifications that allow them to travel with passenger trains.
People bought cattle as well.
Do you know how much money that would cost a cattle farmer?
So had this but very few it is better and faster but more of them had telegram
Milk and meat are both very perishable. cattle farmers didn't raise the animal just to have as pets. The money that you get from cows comes from the PERISHABLE items that they produce. Therefore, the refrigerated box car was essential for meat and milk transportation. Look at the world today, Meat and milk are carried in REFRIGERATED trailers.
