I'm 16. IDs are taken so one person won't apply to be an ambassador on multiple accounts.

IDs are needed to verify that you are an actual person and not a creeper that's hiding behind a fake profile picture ;)
though the age requirement for ambassadors is 13 and up

becoming an ambassador is a voluntary thing
(we do not get paid) ... (nor do the mods)
some perks of being an ambassador are:
- getting the inside scoop on some OpenStudy behind-the-scenes action
- being considered a "leader" in the OpenStudy community
      (can be put as such in a college resume)

but ambassadors do NOT:
- have banning/suspending rights
- get to break os rules in their favor

Mmhmm. I think it is good for the Photo ID, because of not signing up for Ambassador on multiple accounts like Jiggly said.
