Does anyone know a suitable experiment in which I can determine the heat of reaction? I need a methodology to begin with. Thanks in advance!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

The most common method is using a bomb calorimeter. If you're looking for a full procedure, google "heat of reaction lab".

Thank you!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem !

One more thing, if you don't mind. What's a hypothesis for this lab? p.s This is a planning and designing lab.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hm i'm not sure, you're trying to get a measurement not prove some point. So i'd get the theoretical value (from the literature) and go from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. Well, in this case, I'll need to do more reading on this particular topic. Anyways, thanks, again.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah, knowing about the topic a bit more is a good idea. no problem!
