why is the smart score broken?

Yes, this "broken" glitch thing has been nicknamed the "Orange Wars"
it happens because OpenStudy is flooded with too many people looking for help
too many people = site can not handle it = this glitch
The Developers are working on trying to find and solve the problem,
but it will take some time
but they are working on trying to fix it
so please bear with us and be patient as they try to figure this out ^_^

Generally, that is wrong. IIn the past it had very little to do wih load. Just showed up faster when there was more load. The first Orange War, before it was called Orange War, was due to zalgo text. That is stacked text. The second Orange War, where the name came from, was due to a bug that slow killed the notification server. The 3rd Orange War was never explained... but that one did seem to have more links to how many people were on. This, the 4th Orange War, has yet to be clearly identified but seems to start with one instance of the site and eventually spreads to others. The dev team has ideas about it.

@geerky42 They reboot one or more servers when it gets bad, or at least restart some process that is the cause. This causes it to work for a while. So it comes and goes. Last I heard, they are still lookig for what starts it.

O_O i think i found another part of it... randomly out of no were what i had typed 5 minutes prevoisly reposted itself i jsut posted one thing and it said at the same EXACT time 2 messages i said before that, do you think there connected? @e.mccormick

Dunno. I got 7 copies of a DM earlier. Then I went to work, logged on, and there is only one. So the reply to the notification server to tell it I had gotten the message was not making it back.

It would be interesting to see if the duplicated post exists in truth or if it is an artifact like that.

mine is still there right now... its weird... also the notifications are messing up and at the same time, people in chat are having the firsdt quastion pop up if its there first quastion in a subject... not under ALL subjects... do you think these are also connected? @e.mccormick

They are trying to fix it but my SmartScore shows up I don't know why its not working for other people.
