No, the people nowadays are a widely ignorant population. The government in fact tries to keep the people stupid in order to control us and keep us from forming our own opinions. This is one of the main reasons government is so against religion being taught in school, because obviously religion is a very thought provoking subject and gives people the information to make their own decisions and form their own opinions.
