answer 1: OZONE is a very strong oxidizing agent which create a condition of high solubility for both suspended and dissolved organics in water...GAC is used to trap these dissolved organics for removal lest they return into the distribution pipes where they encourage microbial growth due to the likely presence of high nitrates or nitrite.
