the sum of two numbers is\[\frac{ 7 }{ 8 }\] one added is \[\frac{ 3 }{ 4 }\] what is the other?

OpenStudy (one098):

1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get it?

OpenStudy (one098):

wait no..

I just gave you a medle and faned you :)

OpenStudy (one098):

OK, well if you subtract both fractions from each other, to find the missing one, you have to make the denominators the same, so I multiplied both the top and bottom of the fraction 3/4 by 2 to make the denominators match. So I just subtract them both and got 1/4. Thanks alot! c:
