Choose the value for x that makes the open sentence true. 6 ● 7 – 5x + x2 ≥ x3 + x2

OpenStudy (igreen):

Do you have choices? @Jojoplayz12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, can you post them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 4 5 6

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(6 ● 7 – 5x + x^2 ≥ x^3 + x^2\) Lets plug in 3: \(6 ● 7 – 5(3) + 3^2 ≥ 3^3 + 3^2\) Multiply -5 * 3: \(6 ● 7 – 15 + 3^2 ≥ 3^3 + 3^2\) Simplify all exponents: \(6 ● 7 – 15 + 9 ≥ 27 + 9\) Multiply 6 * 7: \(42 – 15 + 9 ≥ 27 + 9\) Subtract 42 - 15: \(27 + 9 ≥ 27 + 9\) Add 27 + 9: \(36 ≥ 27 + 9\) Add 27 + 9: \(36 ≥ 36\) So 3 is correct.
