Similarities- -Both have the following organelles (like organs but in a cell) Nucleus and all contained parts(like a brain), cell membrane(give structure and function), ribosomes(make proteins), endoplasmic reticulum (smooth and rough depending on the presence of ribosomes), cytoplasm(the "goo" that holds all of the organelles in the cell), mitochondia(think of this as the powerhouse of the cell), and vacuole (storage). I know I'm forgetting a couple, but those are the main ones. -Both undergo mitosis. -Actually, there are a lot of these. If you know about cells in general, what you know probably applies to both unless you saw an exception somewhere. Differences- -The plant cell has a cell wall and cell membrane. Animal only has membrane. -The plant cell has chloroplasts which enable photosynthesis. These are not present in animals. -The plant cell has a much larger vacuole (the organelle that stores food and wastes in a cell)
