OpenStudy (imstuck):

That file is not viewable it says. It doesn't open anything. Repost somehow, ok?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

No, it tells me the same thing as the other link. It says, "Sorry, you cannot view or download the file at this time."

@IMStuck

OpenStudy (phi):

notice the bottom is y^2 -1 which is a difference of squares. It factors like this \[ (a^2 - b^2) = (a+b)(a-b) \] can you factor the bottom? what do you get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the bottom is y^2-1? Maybe i gave you the wrong image. The bottom is y^2-9 and when i factor it i get (y-3)(y+3) @phi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just dont know how to do the top

OpenStudy (phi):

oh, I typed 1 instead of 9. but you have the right idea. If this simplifies , it's because either (y-3) or (y+3) divides evenly into the top I would try dividing one of them into the top using polynomial division or synthetic division. try y-3. Does it divide evenly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do tht
