2x-3y=-24 x+6y=18

What do you need to do?

OpenStudy (kl0723):

Apparently solve for each variable in the system of equations... what you should do is multiply eq #2 by -2 and start to cancel the x to solve for y :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At least that is what I think, from what I remember.

OpenStudy (kl0723):

2x-3y=-24 x +6y=18 (-2) you get a new system: 2x-3y=-24 -2x-12y=-36

OpenStudy (kl0723):

notice that the x value cancels :) and you're left with one variable y in combined equation
