NEED HELP. What is the solution to the equation X + 2.15 = –3.2? X =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just subtract 2.15 from each side and you get yur answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wtf?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -5.35

yeah thats all

To solve the problem, you want to get your variable alone. To get your variable (your variable would be x) alone, you would subtract 2.15 from both sides. You'd subtract it because you want to have x alone, and right now positive 2.15 is on the same side as your variable. The opposite of 2.15 is -2.15, or a subtraction of 2.15. Anyway, if you subtract 2.15 from -3.2, you get x=-5.35. So, x=-5.35 is your answer. Hope this helps :P
